Custom Earmolds & Hearing Protection
There are virtually endless "custom" earmold options available for those who need it. These custom devices, made from an impression of the ear, can be made specifically for swimmers, target shooters, motorcyclists, airline pilots, musicians, and medical professionals.
iPod and Blue Tooth

Custom earmolds can be ordered as either monaural or binaural and are made to provide comfort, clarity, and convenience. They are available in a variety of colors and are made to fit over your headphones or bluetooth head set.
Swimmers
Made from silicone, custom swim plugs are to be worn while swimming or showering to prevent water from entering the ear canal. These earmolds can also be used as noise plugs to protect hearing and are available in a variety of colors. Average sound attenuation is 39 decibels (dB).
Target Shooters/Hunters
These full shell, solid earplugs are the earmold of choice for high-level noise exposure. They can be made from either vinyl or silicone materials and are designed for maximum sound attenuation to protect the hearing. These earmolds can also be designed in a canal-only style to be worn while sleeping. Average sound attenuation is 36 decibels (dB).
Motorcyclists
These solid earplugs are usually a "half-shell" style and have a filtered attenuator that allows for some verbal communication while protecting hearing at the same time. Vinyl and silicone are the materials of choice. Construction workers, shooters, and dental hygienists would benefit from these filtered earplugs. Average sound attenuation is 30 decibels (dB).
Airline Pilots
This full shell earmold is designed to accommodate some of the Plantronics and Telex pilot "boom-mic" headsets. These custom earmolds incorporate a ball and socket attachment and can be ordered in a variety of colors in either vinyl or acrylic material.
Musicians
This canal-only earmold is not completely solid all the way through. It has a patented snap filter on the outside of the earmold for attenuation while maintaining high fidelity of sound. These filters are available in 9, 15, or 25 decibel levels. Vinyl is usually the material of choice. The material and filters also come in a variety of colors. Concert goers, DJs, waitresses and bartenders would also benefit from these earmolds. Custom in-ear monitors are also available in single-driver, dual-driver, and three-driver options. For iPod users, try a custom earmold with adaptor to accommodate ear-bud headphones. These earmolds can also be used with ear bud-style, cell phone headsets.
Medical Professionals
Custom monaural or binaural earmolds for stethoscope use provide improved comfort and sound quality for medical professionals who need it. These earmolds come with one (or two) adapt-a-scopes that plug into the earmolds and several feet of flexible Scope tubing. Material options run from hard acrylic to soft silicone.
